Thanks for the info. I did know of that issue and had fixed that with the "Stinsondog" instructions by having multiple filters. Your instructions are much more concise so that helps, no filter order problems either.

I can send e-mails to my BB by entering the cingular.blackberry.net address as the "to". I just like to use the others to test setups thru gmail and I cannot send anything to my BB thru gmail- must go directly to bb.

This is a quick and easy setup for anyone looking to achieve instant e-mail with BIS.

Thank you for clearing up my questions...

Ok I just have a quick question.
Will the e-mails I receive to my Gmail address still appear in my Gmail inbox as well as I receive them on my blackberry?

Yes, I leave mine there so that Outlook can POP them and I can have all of my e-mail on BB and PC.

I have updated my site to make it clear that both forwarding and POP need to be disabled and to mention that June 5th is Cingular's rumored roll out of BIS 2.0.

[QUOTE=kbart63
This would probably work for a BIS1x blackberry.net email. You would need to use bbReply on your BB to specify the reply-to address.
[/QUOTE]

kbart what did you intend by the above in your instructions.

Thanks for the thread. I'm enjoying my new 8700g a *lot* more after some time on this forum.

This is my first BB, so I hope you'll excuse my ignorance. The directions in the op seem pretty straight-forward, except that I can't figure out where I go to:

1- Edit your BIS settings for your blackberry.net address.

I tried the "Set up Internet E-mail" icon, but that just takes me to T-Zones.

Thanks!

Log into your carrier's website on a PC and choose "Setup Internet Email" (you can also do this from your BB by clicking on the icon on the home screen)

kbart63 "This would probably work for a BIS1x blackberry.net email. You would need to use bbReply on your BB to specify the reply-to address"

Stinsonddog "kbart what did you intend by the above in your instructions."

I just wanted to place a hint that people on BIS1x would not get the built in reply-to functionality and would need to use BBreply. I only had a BlackBerry on BIS1x for a very short period, so I wanted to qualify my statement. There was a post from dtmfjunkie on Rogers BIS1x that the setup works.

Unrelated - I returned my 8700g, so I am BlackBerry-less again. The device was brilliant, even if a little addictive. I was unable to get my BB on my corporate BES (policy issue - SOX) and I got a new job and they may get me a BB anyway (no need to have two).

Are you in financial? I am in the Big 4 and we use them with all the SOX issues.

Energy creation and distribution. We have BB, but the 8700g I had was a personal purchase, which under our policy is not acceptable.

I don't know if this is the proper thread to ask, but here goes. How do I set it up to have emails with attachments NOT forwarded to the BB? I have a plan that only allows me 5mb of email transfer a month.

Thanks!

ChopperDan,
I don't know the answer to your question but it may get lost at the bottom of this thread. While you wait for a reply try searching for an answer with the "search" function. If you still don't find your answer and no replies are found on this thread then I would suggest starting a new thread with your question specifically. Tha people who are reading this thread may know the answer and can help you but the # of people who see your question is going to be limited due to it being in an unrelated thread.
Edit: I did a quick search for you and found this:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/sear...archid=1023616

Look at the second thread, it may have an answer, otherwise look at the rest of the search results. I use the words " attachment fiilter".
Good luck

This works great for me except that a message sent from my BB (7130e, VZW) does not appear in gmail at all. Anything you can think of? I've verified the filter is correct in gmail.

EDIT: I sent the message using the 'web client' account, not the gmail, since the web client apparently is the default. All is fine now.

Hey All,

Thanks for the great "how to". For the most part this setup is working great for me. As specified, I've put a - before the email address I want forwarded to my blackberry, and then a forward to my berry address. The problem seems to be that gmail isn't filtering that address. I'm getting a lot of mailing list stuff and such forwarded, which in the end is not a major deal, but the less mail I have to slog through on the little screen the better.

Anyone else having this problem? Something I may be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Call me retarded, but how is this different from just a basic acct setup on BIS?
