Other than this recent fall into a puddle, BTW, my BB has been incredibly durable. Had an 8310 for work for about five months, and dropped it all the time on concrete, from waist level (I'm 5'7"). Recently got my own unit, same model, and same thing - I drop it by accident about once every week or so, and have never experienced a problem with it afterwards. I'm hoping it will similarly recover from its recent submersion in water...

dropped my curve right onto concrete from my hand! I let out a gasp as it bounced twice. Luckily I had by OEM silicone skin on it and not a scratch. This was last July and it hasn't been a problem yet

I was on stairs to enter my home, and my BB 8830 fell all way to floor in total of about 6 feet, and come off with just marks on chrome side corner. Nothing is broken or even problematic. Tough indeed...

Dropped my 8703 down a flight of stairs onto cement flooring...Not a scratch.....Approx 20 feet

I spent a lot of time in the hospital June 2008 - Jan 2009. I always had my BB with me and I would keep it on one of those rolling tables that are always bedside (you know, to put your food tray on, etc...) - I must have (or gosh darn nurses!) knocked my BB off that table to the cement floor (approx 3 feet) 10+ times. Each time, the back would fly off, the battery would go flying in another direction and when I would finally get the pieces scooped up - plug em in and the BlackBerry booted up without hesitation!

Last week I was in the hospital again with pnuemonia, fell asleep laying on the phone - the heat & moisture of my body (Im guessing) destroyed the back cover of my phone. There are dozens of tiny "bubbles" under which Im assuming is a thin covering. Well, the phone didnt overheat. She was purring like a kitten when I clicked my scrollball upon waking!
