Hey,

I am currently using a friends unlocked 8800 as my other phone broke. This phone does not have messenger on it. I as curious what the easiest way to get messenger on it would be?

Messenger as in BlackBerry Messenger?

If that's what you mean, you would have to install it via App Loader in Desktop Manager. In order to do that, you would need to download and install the OS onto your PC.

Maybe the icon is hidden. From the homescreen, press the menu key and select show all.

thanks for your reply. It's not hidden unfortunately. I am using a mac is there a version of desktop manager for mac? where do i then get the bbm app from if so ?

ok so if i manage to use a PC i have the blackberry CD, where do i find the App?

If you can use a PC, then follow these steps to the letter:

Make sure there is a check mark next to BlackBerry Messenger and any other application that you would need.

I would suggest talking to your friend before doing this as it is your friend's phone.

I noticed that its for Hutchison? Will this cause my phone to be locked to that network?

No, follow the steps and remove the Vendor.xml file.

Loader.exe is part of the OS. Install it to your PC and follow the steps as directed in the link provided.
