Default Total Memory 10.10 MB on 8700c?

Please Login to Remove!

Is it normal for a 8700c to show only 10.10 MB of total memory and 8-9 MB of used memory leaving less than 1MB available?

I know that it only has 64MB of device memory but does the OS and applications take that much memory?

OS, Applications, message, pictures and ringtones do.

Remove all unnecessary languages, pictures, themes and ringtones.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

In addition, some of the RIM software upgrades if compatible for your phone were a bit larger.

These legacy devices were designed to be used pretty much as they came. Adding programs, ringtones, pictures, etc., was never part of the plan. It wasn't until RIM came out with the 8300 Curve that they added media card support for storing pictures and ringtones, etc. This allowed more of the 64 MB of internal memory to run the OS, making a smoother user experience and allowing more aftermarket programs to be used.
