Default prevent thethering on BB9300

Please Login to Remove!

Some of my users with a (corporate) BB9300 use their BB 3G connection to connect their (corporate) laptop to internet to circumvent our normal internet connection that goes through our firewall with a browsing policy.
Does anyone has any ideas how to prevent this either on the handheld, the BES server or on the laptop ?

Thanks,
Peter

Do your users need to tether away from the office?

If not, just completely disable tethering.

If so, I suspect it would be easier to attack it with a location profile on the computer.

When away from the office they might need it, but they have a token they should use to setup a ipsec/vpn tunnel.
A location profile might be a good idea: when on the LAN, disable dialup/modem.
How do I "disable tethering" ?

Thanks again.

You say they "should" use the token. Is it required by company policy? Can you make it a system policy so tethering requires the vpn connection?
