Default My browser taken hostage by a download App Store

Please Login to Remove!

Every time I start my browser (I use the default BB browser), it takes me to a download page for App Store (version 1.04.165; MobiHand Inc.). It ignores my default starting page completely. No matter what I do to the browser (via it Options), I always get this download page. What in the world?
Anyone else is experiencing this? Is there a way to git rid of this App Store invasion of my privacy?

If you have the BaclBerry App Store app loaded on your device, try removing it. (Options>Advanced Options>Applications, find the BalckBerry App Store app in the list, highlight it,press the menu key and Delete.)

I deleted APP Store but the scenario continues! Truly it is as though App Store highjacked my browser.

Try clearing your browser history, cache, pushed content, cookie cache, etc. followed by a battery pull.

If none of the above work, then we may engage the store owner with some serious discussion. Business users will not tolerate this.

My last resort. I am going to contact them as soon as I can. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem.

One other possibility: reinstall App World and download a free app. See if that shakes it loose.

Tried that too but no luck. It is as though the browser is stuck on that page forever. I am not even sure how it all started. I sent them an angry email and waiting for their response.

OK, I finally figured out what's happening (and I am going to let the folks at App Store know that I am unhappy -- to say the least -- at their sneaky behavior).
The 'good' guys at App Store have created an icon that looks identical to the BB Browser (absolutely the same). So now I have two identical BB Browser icons, one that takes me always to the download App Store and one that behaves like the BB Browser does.
Interestingly enough, I am unable to delete this darn icon (it does not show up in the Menu>>Advance>>Applications, nor can I delete it by pressing Menu while it is highlighted). So I just hide it, which is fine. Phew...

See if you can find it in Options > Advanced Options > Applications > Menu Key > Modules and delete it from there.

If it isn't there, check Options > Advanced Options > Service Books, and delete it from there.

Is it a push app from your carrier? You may be better off just hiding the icon and forgetting about it...
