Yep. I just finished my theme. All I wanted was a simple Today Plus theme with the folder icons intact, and thanks to your help, I got it working. Phew... it was a long journey for such a simple theme, but thank you so much for helping me.

I don't see why it's not working for you..maybe I'm just special, I just load a blank theme and change everything and whenever I load it on my phone the folders stay in tact with what they are originally and I can change the icon and also go back to the icon whenever I like...

No idea. It's strange, but at least there is now a way to get it to work (at least for me). Thanks for your help too, by the way.

I've only had the problem by editing the application hierarchy, either

1. Explicitly - via Edit Application Hierarchy, or
2. Implicitly - by adding a web link

This seems mostly consistent with others have seen or said.

It sure would be nice not to lose these, or at least have a way to customize the standard ones (downloads, applications, games) in ThemeBuilder.

One more ThemeBuilder quirk to have fun with!

I was looking for some info on how to set these system icons and I found this thread.

In my Bold I can't select and so I can't use these icons because I don't have them in the custom icons list that comes up when I try to create a new folderm
The fact is that I don't have them either if I edit one of those system folders, so if I edit their folder name, I cannot save because it will result in having the system folder with a new name but with the custom folder icon, and the only way to restore the system icon is to restore the theme to default from the theme screen in the bb settings!

Is there a way to select those icons for their use for system folders that I would like to rename, and also for extra new folders created by me??

I use the default Precision Zen theme, and really would like to use all possible icons for everything.
Is there some kind of cheat, or maybe a brand new theme that it looks the same as the original, but that has those system icons usable??

if this hasn't been done yet, I was thinking about creating an edited version of the original Bold Precision Zen theme just to have extra icons for new folders.
instead, if someone has already done that, maybe with some sort of Precision Today theme too , can you please point me there??

Thank you for every thing!

I am hoping someone is still following this thread. I have had a similar problem. I will create a theme and new icons. The icons all change just fine with the exception of the folders. I also get the "blank" folder icons even though I've created new ones. I've gone into the "Theme the Application List" screen and manually changed each folder icons multiple times but no luck. How do I get the newly created folders to show up. Am I simply stuck with the default Zen style or the "edit folder" choices.

Unfortunately we never did figure out how to change them from the defaults. The best you can do is have:

a) all of them show up the same, but customized
b) all of them show up different, but only as the theme defaults. (That's what the instructions in this thread help accomplish)

What you want to do is, I think, customize every different folder (downloads, setup, etc.) with your own perzonalized icons. to this day i've never seen anyone give proper instructions on how to do that.

The new Theme Builder allows you to create new App, GAME, etc folders to your liking.
