BTW I found that I could make stereo mp3s at 80kbps / 32kHz, I currently have a couple that are around 500k each and they work fine.

I'm impressed.

Do any of you have the "vissi d'arte" from the Callas-Gobi-DeStefano Tosca? I've tried and failed many times to get it to a point where it'll fit on my 7100g.

That + better RF could sell me an 8700g.

How did you get a 500k file to your phone? My browser gives me an undefined error when I click on any file much over 140k (+/-), using the browser. It pops up a blank box with an 'OK' to click on.

I had the same issue, as soon as I set the 56kbps / 32.000kHz settings as mentioned above it worked like a charm, I did screen shots of the iTunes settings.

I was able to make a mp3 that was 128 kbps, 412k and 26 seconds long. I'm pretty sure the 128 is overkill considering it is a phone.

Maybe I'm able to download large files because I haven't syncd yet with my PC so I have nothing on the phone yet. (Trying to work out Enterprise activation but not having any luck yet)

Here is a link to my ringtone area, I hesitate to give this out as I don't want to get a lot of traffic. But in case my web server is why it works here is my ringtone area:

http://www.thomii.com/ringtones/

ColdPlayL.mp3 is the 504kb file.

The Special Ed one is an 8bit wav, I tried to fix it so it said "Yaaa, I Got Mail YAAAA!" - but it gets screwed up... I found it as an 8bit wav and when I change it to 16bit it speeds up and sounds like Alvin from Chipmunks.

I am gonna try doing it in Pro Tools later today, kinda seems like swatting a fly with a 747 but what the hell, it is bugging me that it cuts short.

Those MP3 and MIDI files all work for me - the Coldplay one only shows as 199.57K, but still that's over the alleged 120K limit.

If you succeed please post it. Thx again!!

Its funny when I'm walking around and my bberry goes off and people hear the special ed alert. It's like wtf? Then they are amazed at how the 8700r looks. I have had many people comment on it when I am out and and about. Especially when it rings or I get an email and it plays an mp3 file.
