Hope this hasn't been posted before. Sorry in advance if it's a re-post.

I posted this link in another thread but didn't want it to get lost.

If you're interested in creating your own custom voice ringtones have a look at this site:

http://www.research.att.com/projects/tts/demo.html

You can create tones saying anything you want and choose from a variety of voices.

Once you've created the tone and previewed it just download it. Then simply convert the file from .wav to whatever your BB uses (in my case I used DB Powe AMP to change it to Mp3.)

I've loaded a dozen or so of these onto my BB and they work great. I mostly use things like "it's XXX calling." With the contacts that call me most often I know who's calling before I ever look at the BB.

I've been uploading them here:

http://www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php

Then just head to the link provided on your BB and download.

Not sure.

What type of ringtones does the 7520 use?

I could be wrong but I think the 7520 plays only mono files. Isn't the 7520 the cdma variant of the 7290?

How are you formating the Mp3 files?

How long are they?

How large of a file?

I'm formatting from wav to mp3 using "river past" one is 12kb the other is 8kb after converting the mp3 files play fine in media player...they also appear to upload correctly on the wap site you provided...just when i actually download them they have 0kb mysteriously.

see if it works for you:

File uploaded, go to http://wap.coolservice.dk and enter this id: 321555

-Mono
-32000 Hz
-Mp3 (Lame)

And they all work.

thanks Greenberg. The ones you did for me do indeed work! I'll have to seek a nice little free program that will let me set the format of the mp3 the same as yours does.

cheers again.
