OK, so I was being a little lazy in not searching first but what I really meant to say was that I thought 284 was the most recent version because I'd looked only under the t-mobile link in that thread. Is there any advantage to the 286 or later versions (given, as you say, that wav attachments are still unplayable) - or is this question also inviting a suggestion to search before posting?!

Well... The topic did come up a few days ago.
Some people want the latest version just because it's the latest. Some want new themes. So think it will fix problems they may be having. Others do it and then regret it because "things got worse".

Unless you are having a problem, go with what your carrier supports. Otherwise, if you call them for support and are running a version different then theirs, there might be an issue getting support.

It doesn't get any easier than that.
Mine doesn't bring up a bar for the download, it just says "OK." Did it not download? Where does it go after I download it?

Your file size is probably too large. Coolservice has a 512K max, which at my compression rate was around 20 seconds. You might want to try http://www.funformobile.com/pages/ri...adRingtone.php which at least on its face doesn't have a max.

My file is 410k, but the message on my BlackBerry 7520 says "Application can not accept the content [audio/mpeg].

:(

EDIT: Ah, the curse of not being able to play MP3s on a 7520. I was able to download a MIDI onto my BB, but for some reason, instead of playing the Doctor Who theme that the MIDI is, it played a series of off-time beeps and boops. Any particular format of MIDI I need?

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8700: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

This is the most frustrating thing ever. I might trade in my Blackberry, if I can't make my ringers work, for an 8125 or something.

It's always better to keep it under 300kb though imho.
Everthing on the blackberry starts getting slow if you put in a lot of media

This site worked great for a couple of downloads. Now I'm getting a comment saying the servers have found a security issue on my puter and to contact support. When I click that link it comes up in a foreign language. HELP!!!!

I haven't used it in a while but it does seem that a lot of people are having trouble with it.

Question Max File Size for 8700c mp3 ringtones?

I've found the 8700c has a lower file size limit than the 8700g...

Yes it does. Just make sure the file size of the ringtone is under the specified file limit on coolservice.dk.
