Please Login to Remove!

I'm going to add more options to the resizing tool tomorrow so that you have more control of how it crops the image. I'll also see about adding a search feature.

I think this is a tremendous and selfless project on your part. I tried it out this evening and it works GREAT. Perhaps even a feature that allows you to delete an uploaded pic, given that you are the originator, given the event that you do not want it posted anymore.

Anyways...mad props.

If you expand more on this and get a good enough following, you should consider generating a donation button.

For the 7290s, the default screen size is 240x160 which, if you look at the image under the Pictures app, it looks pretty nifty. But depending on where your banner is defaulted to (the data, time, battery, signal, etc), setting the pic as the Home Screen Image will cut off tthe top of the image.

Here's what I did.

The pics I created (for the 7290) are 240x120 with a black bar at the top measuring 240x40. So all together, you have a 240x160 image, the top 40 pixels being dead space because it won't show up beneath the banner anyway. I squish my pics down to 240x120 then add the extra dead space so it looks nice as my home screen.

I have attached an example, both downloadable via the blackberryimages.com website.

Not sure if this is what you were talking about, but it took me a little while to figure out the measurements and thought I'd save someone else the time.

Unhappy Hmmm ???

Was all excited about the site but three attempts now and nothing has arrived on my BB after about half an hour wait. Not a server problem as I am still getting my regular mail...

Any suggestions?

It could be that my site is being blacklisted by your email host, this usually happens with aol and I have not applied for a whitelist yet. If the email is not working, what you can do temporarily is go to the image's page and copy the address. Replace the 'img.php' part with 'imgs.php' and manually send this address to your blackberry.

Also if you can tell me who your email host is so I can setup a whitelist with them?

tgray:

I'm currently modifying the script to allow you to choose where the black crop space is and should have it complete by tonight.

Also, if anyone has any other problems please post it in my help section of the forum on my website as it send me a notification to my blackberry and I can answer it quicker.

Edit:

I plan to allow you to sign up as a member and delete or hide your images, but until then if you would like one of your images removed you can email me or post it in the forum.

The site is growing quickly with over 9,000 hits and over 300 uploads, and I plan to add many more features to make it worthwhile.

I added the control of the blank space.

I'm also working on a free sms feature so that the site will work with any phone.

Thanks, I'm glad you guys like the site. I added another control to the resizing tool. You can now crop/zoom in or add blank space anywhere around the image.

Just wondering, what would the possibility be of being able to load images to the website without having them be viewable by all who visit? For example, I'd like to be able to load some images of my family, but would rather not have them accessible to the entire internet. Any thoughts?

I am working on the ability to hide your pictures by becoming a member. I don't have any time right now to do this, but I may be able to do it this weekend.

Hi,

Overall a good site, which I had recommended to some people, however unfortunately at the moment I have had to stop due to an adult image (which while I personally dont have a major issue with some of the people I refer to will have), Perhaps it may be an idea either to vet images before they are fully uploaded (if your web host does not allow adult images as some dont!) or to have a clearly marked adult section for people to upload these to??

That would be an awesome feature. I look forward to any progress.

The site is definitely improving with the number of submissions! Well done. As far as adult images go....maybe I'm missing something but I don't see anything up there that is remotely offensive. Personally, I woudn't put a woman in a bikini as my bb/pc wallpaper but is that what people are taking issue with?

I apologize for those of you that saw that. It has happened a few times now since we started, that someone has tried to vandalize my site. I have blocked their ip, but that doesn't work since they just get a new one. The recent attack happened last night while I was sleeping and I didn't wake up until about 1:00 pm . Again I apologize for what happened and will try to implement a better system of stopping this.

no worries brother you are doing a great job its hard to keep that stuff off of a site that allows anyone to upload to it. So keep up the good work.
