Default Warranty replacement, what to do?

Please Login to Remove!

I have the BB 3G for Sprint. The screen stopped working and the Sprint people tell me to talk to Blackberry about it. I haven't had it for a year yet so i assume it's still under warranty. I found the blackberry website to be very confusing and couldn't figure out what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about how Sprint handles warranty service, but Verizon gives a 1 year warranty, and they normally handle replacement themselves, rather than directing you to RIM. I can't say, of course if my experience with VZW warranty service translates at all to Sprint...but I'd thin the cell provider would provide waranty replacement.

Did you buy it from Sprint? If so they should handle any warranty claim on your behalf.

Unless you bought it directly from RIM they have nothing to do with a claim from consumers.

The carriers should handle all warranty replacements. As saod above, RIM has nothing to do with it.

If you bought it from eBay or else, you are proabably out of luck.

I bought it from a Sprint store. I didn't go back to the store I bought it from because it's pretty far away, but the store I went to said they couldn't help me and told me to talk to blackberry. This isn't a true spring store its a franchise so i'm not sure if this makes a difference. Im going to head over there tomorrow and talk to them again. Thanks for the help.

Go back to the same store where you bought it. If it's less than a year old, they should be able to do something for you. I'd also tell Sprint about the franchise store that told you to deal directly with RIM. That's just bad advice and designed to get you out of their store. Bad business.

You shouldn't have to go back to the Sprint store you bought it at, but look what happened when you went to a franchise location. They couldn't wait to get you out instead of helping.

How about trying to call Sprint to see if they can help instead of driving three hours? Explain what the problem is and that you tried to go to a local store, but they refused to help. Maybe they can provide guidance or possibly do a replacement if necessary.

Maybe they can also try to "correct" the attitude of that franchise store. Sounds like they need a good arse-kicking.

If you purchased the original device from a corporate owned Spritn store find the nearest corporate owned store and go there. The policies are the same across all th stores.
