Has anyone heard an official release date for the 8100 from Rogers in Canada?

I'm ready for an upgrade and I have called several times and was told,

"We have not been given this information"
"The end of September"
"The middle of October"

It is indeed October 12th, there is a launch party tonight for Rogers/Channel Employees.

Top rogers people are muttering the 11th for launch, though more consistantly i have heard the 12th.

You'll never get meaningful information from Rogers until a week or two after launch. Prior to that, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing..

I picked mine up today from the Rogers store at Bay and Adalaide in Toronto. That store always seems to have things first so the rest of the stores should have it within the next week

Anyone know if Rogers will sell the Pearl without a contract extension and if so do you have any idea on the cost. I have checked on the rogers.com site and all I can see if prices for 1,2 or 3 year contracts.

most dealers are selling it at 550. which makes the store $100 margin.

You can buy it at full price and replace your existing bb on the same contract.

it's $249 on a 3 year contract
i'd expect you'll be paying about $500 on no contract..

i have 3 on order, should get them very soon.

Note that waterloo area stores had non in stock as of Friday last week. Seems stock is tricking to stores slower than they expected it to..

I've had mine for a weel now, they are available @ some Rogers Video stores at $449 plus tax....I spoke to a dealer the day before i got mine and he was selling it for 550, which is crazy.... Not sure if the store still has any (Bloor and Jarvis)

Again as I said they are selling them at the 550 price to make 100 bucks off the device like they do with almost every phone out right price. Sometimes you can bargin with these guys but anything lower than 500 then the store is not making any money off the deivce, especially when they can save that same device and use it for a new activation and make $175 +
