Currently i have v4.6.1.314

I want to update to the newest version of Curve, which is the v5 i suppose..

My phone is unlocked, and has no data plan yet. My provider is UFONE.
I tried nearly every way to update my phone by googling many sites.

But after installing the exe file of the update the Apploader doesnt show the update files

If i add the new files, from browsing. It gives this error.

The application is not compatitble with ur device

1 - You must use the OS installer file released for your model. Did you?

2 - You must execute the installer file on the computer.

3 - A data plan is required to install OS 5. There are work arounds but I don't recall exactly; however, you should be able to find with not too much searching, and it is discussed on the forum in at least one or two threads but probably more.

4 - If you aren't really have trouble with what you have, there's a good argument to be made for leaving it alone and sticking with it.

I downloaded the right OS,
Can u please give me a link to upgrade my OS without having a dataplan please?
I dont want to stick with the old version,

v5 has cooler options..

Can u please help?

I'm mobile and don't havea link. Maybe someone else will post something. But in the meantime Google is your best bet.

I found the thread which describes how to "Upgrade BB with or without data plan" with using the search. If / when you do find it, I would suggest proceeding with extreme caution and read the entire thread before attempting.

I have never had to use this method because I have a data plan.

EDIT: once a phone is unlocked it is always unlocked.
