Hi, my brother has bought an unlocked Blackberry 8310, bought a new sim card and memory card and top up but he cannot get the internet on it?
I know absolutely nothing about mobile phones! cant even work my blackberry curve properly!!
Can anyone help by telling me what he has to do to get the internet working on it?
He can make and receive calls and sms but not use the blackberry messenger, blue tooth or internet?
I think he may have to configure something?
If anyone can walk me through it so I can tell him??
He has done my head in tonight! I bought the phone for him via Ebay and as it is I have already sent one back as the first came...minus the camera facility so the seller kindly replaced it for the same price..with the 8310. but there are no instructions.
The phone was initially on the O2 network but it is unlocked and working fine on the vodafone network...just cant get on the internet, I assume because it has to be set up in some way?

He needs a BlackBerry data plan active on his account. Vodafone will be happy to add this to his account (postpaid accounts only) for a reasonable monthly tariff.

Thanks, post paid? is that contract? he has pay as you go. I will tell him to ring vodafone tomorrow and hopefully they can tell him what he has to do. thanks for your help.

You may get BlackBerry data on PAYG. Phone them or visit this link and add the bolt-on.

The blackberry phone uses a data plan to connect to the internet. This is because with the data plan you will access more features from their enterprise server. And you can get emails easily. Purchase a data plan and enjoy the benefits.
