Default Slow SMS for only one contact

Please Login to Remove!

I tend to SMS text with one contact more often than others. For some reason whenever I SMS this contact, my phone slows down really bad. However, when I SMS with other contacts, it happens fairly quickly. If it was happening with all my contacts, I could guess it would be the OS or memory, but it's only one.

Free memory: 16872894
OS: v 4.2.2.196 for Sprint

Thanks for the help in advance.

wow, this is pretty weird. i have noticed when i tried to add contacts, sometime the hourglass would come up for a bit but for sure there is no pattern like you have described up there.

try use once instead of going through contacts, and sms out.

see if that helps...

I sometimes have this same 'problem' as I text quite frequently as well. I think what it is is just that the phone is trying to process the entire SMS history (can you scroll down and see all of the previous conversation?) when you send/receive constantly with only one contact. When I notice an appreciable delay, I usually just start a new SMS string by going Compose New SMS Text > select contact > as per usual. This almost always works out for me. You can also probably limit this from occuring by reducing the number of previous item entries: Home Screen > Options > SMS Text > Number of Prev. Items.

Hope that helps / answers your question!

I've had this happen before and I realized later that it's simply the giant SMS database of the thousands of texts that I had been sending.

The best solution I found was to cleanse the SMS database. I do this by doing a Search for the Contact I had the texts with, scroll down to about two weeks before the current date, select a date and click "Delete Priot." This allowed me to prune out only the texts to that one contact quickly and easily.

I guarantee this will speed up your sending/opening of SMS.
