Default Key Store Password

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I've recently tightened the password section of our IT Policy on BES & have pushed this to all users. I have set the maximum password age to 42 days where previoulsy passwords were set to never expire. A few of our users (one of them being my manager) is now being prompted to confirm their Key Store password but none of their passwords seem to work & the users in question say that they have never set a Key Store password. If the users in question input the password incorrectly 10 times the device is wiped. My device, along with 95% of our devices are fine.

My questions are:

1. What is the Key Store password & why are only a few of our users being prompted with this?

2. How do i stop users being prompted for the key store password?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah it kinda blows. I encountered the same issue here. Most users are fine, but some users kinda get hosed. The way around this is when they are prompted for the password, do a battery pull, the prompt doesn't come back again after that

If prompted for a Key Store Password, pop the battery and perform a hard reset. That usually clears out the Key Store on the device. Seems to work for us.
