I have searched for an answer, but I found nothing to help. When I recieve a MMS on my torch it splits the audio and video. And I cant play then together. What do I need to do to make this work?

I would be more than happy ta help out...but have know idea what your asking? anytime I view a MMS video the sound and picture are synced together..so I have no idea why your not get the sound with the video...maybe because your device is running windows 7 .....

When some one sends me a video joke by text message. It splits the video and audio. It will only play the video with no sound or play sound and no video. Wont play them together.

I dont think there is anything you can do about that....its the way it was sent to you.

The MPEG was not timecoded with the audio so they will not be synced together,but then I still don't understand what your really asking...are you saying someone sends you a video,via multimedia message,you have separate audio and video files?correct?

But the people that send them can play them fine on there plain messaging phone (non smartphone).

I don't know I don't send or receive mms msg's and I don't really have a clue why your friend can. A file is a file and your limited to size that you can send via mms.

@mrandygets - what device are they sending the file from? And are they recording the file with that device?

It's quite likely that, as a featurephone, it's running a proprietary system that records and plays back these files differently. Have your girlfriend send me the video and I'll see what I can figure out for you.

My Torch does the same thing & it doesn't matter what type of phone the msg comes from; it seems to be solely a Torch issue.

Thats it... That is what mine is doing too... Is there some way to fix this?

I got the following response at driphter.com when I asked about this; "I took a look at your thread and this is tied to the media/sms/cldc's for the torch. I am almost 100% that a hybrid can't fix this based on the leaks we currently have. Gotta love RIM bugs".
Looks like we may be stuck with this for a while.
