Default Can my Blackberry become infected with a virus?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry 9000 running OS version 5. It has developed two faults since I upgraded to v.5.

The first problem is that the system doesn't send me an alert for appointments in the diary function. Suppose I have an appointment with my lawyer on, say, 31st December, and I set up an alert for one day beforehand in the calendar, no alert appears on 30th December or at all. The alert system worked OK when I was using version 4.

My second problem is when I lock the keyboard using either the "mute" button or the "lock" key. The keyboard is locked for about 30 seconds to a minute and the lock then disappears which means that keys are pressed when the phone is in my pocket.

I just wondered if Blackberries can become infected with viruses and if there is an antivirus available.

There are no known computer viruses for the BlackBerry.

It sounds like your OS install became corupted. Back up, wipe your device, and reinstall the OS.
