Giant email text
Please Login to Remove!
When I get email from a gmail account, the text is huge on my bb screen.
Any way to change this? Seems to be normal when a message is sent from outlook. This didn't happen on the curve.

What OS was on the Curve? Was it 4.5? Is it possible these email messages coming from Gmail were created in HTML and now the device is getting HTML email as where the Curve wasn't?

Same here - only incoming mails, from all servers, Gmail, AOL, yahoo... I'd like to find out how to make it "normal" font size also. Thanks.

It should be prereq for people to list all of the added apps they have when talking about an issue with any of these phones. The fact that some people have them and others don't would make you think it isn't the phone causing the issue but something else.

I am having this exact same issue, but it is only with corporate email coming from Lotus Notes, but email coming from my customer (Outlook/Exchange over Internet) as well as a few test emails I sent from my Yahoo account all look fine. Since I use a font size of 7 this is quite a drastic impact on my screen real estate to read emails

OK this is strange.
After I read this, I got two emails from BES that the text was gigantic. So I sent myself a test from BES to gmail. That was fine. All is well. More email came through during the evening and all was well there too.
I sent a test from gmail to BES, and again it was pretty large. No html.
Html mail everywhere seems OK. It is txt mail that seems to be big.

Having the same large font issue. Using native email/bis. Seems to be as follows for me: I send an email from my tour. I have my bis set up to bcc: myself, so no matter who I email to, I get a copy back to my outlook and my berry (so I can keep a record of what I sent from my bb). The one that is bcc'd: to me is the one with the huge font on my bb. It looks like times roman 12 on my outlook version. So... it goes out bis, then in and back out roadrunner, then back in thru bis. wierd.

I have the SAME exact problem and was wondering what the heck was going on. I have to go on a scroll fest, lol, just to read a simple email from anyone sending from Gmail. I'm using the native BB mail on BIS. All other emails from others comes in fine...just seems to be from Gmail. And I have my font set at 7, too, so it's a HUGE difference and almost seems like it's set for the blind.

This seems to be a 4.7 issue. I saw this happen on the Storm as well.

I have not had this problem until an incoming mail was too faint/light to read in its native font. I pressed Menu while reading it, selected "get plain text" and lo and behold, it bolded it up and was legible... (the sender used a yahoo acct)
however.... my reply was received by recipient in giant text, as was my bcc to myself, and any further replies to that thread all appeared to be in normal text from the sender side, but the recipient got it in giant text.
Reading the same emails retained on my laptop, everything was in normal font.

See my post here - http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ated-tour.html I was told the only way to remedy this problem is to shut off HTML email. As soon as you get one of the "huge text" emails, if you press the menu key and choose "Get Plain Text" it goes back to normal. That shouldn't be. I told the tech that OS 4.5 on the Curve 8330 didn't have this problem, so why would it become a problem in OS 4.7. He had no idea, but promised to pass this along, with my email examples, to the developers. I also emailed their "suggestion box", as noted in my post linked above.

Unfortunately, this is a two part problem: malformed HTML e-mails, and RIM's processing of them. HTML coding and rendering standards have become really loose and are largely to blame for this mess. Still, RIM should be able to deal with this better.
