Default Problems syncing POP mail after upgrade to BES

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB Pearl Flip that I've been syncing to 2 different computers (one for work and one for personal/home). The sync would allow all calendar/tasks/contacts info to be updated on both computers (and the device). This process worked when using BIS. I just started a new job that required me to upgrade to BES for company email. The BES upgrade worked and was easy so syncing to my work computer is no longer required. I noticed that all the appointments on the device came across to my new work laptop. When I went home to sync to my home computer, I got an error messaging saying that sync was not available for calendar/contacts etc.

I'm hoping somebody can help me because I must find a way to sync both computers into the one device.

Thanks in advance

Probably the company IT Policy. Time to chat with your BES Admin and or IT staff to see what is and isn't allowed. Many of us do not recommend mixing personal information with company information on a BB connected to BES.

Also time to use the SEARCH feature and read the FAQ: BES Users FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

And another: What does BES see; what can be tracked/logged? - Port3101.org : Your BES Connection

Thanks for the ideas. It turns out it isn't a security issue. I spoke to IT and he said he doesn't have any security issues (at least not intentionally

Sounds to me like an IT Policy issue. Maybe some of our BES experts can chime in.

Have you tried a battery pull on the device yet? that fixes many problems.

And, the 8200 series has been very problematic, so it could be something with the device itself, but I doubt it.

Nice forum, you guys respond quickly, thanks for the help.

I did try the hard re-boot and it didnt work. I know nothing about this stuff other using BB's for years and it 'feels' like it's a BES thing but IT assures me it's not.

Does anybody know for sure if the following is possible?

corporate email/contacts/tasks/calendar using BES then sync to POP mail using outlook on my home computer

Anything more specific about the error message? Are your calendar and contacts now synching wirelessly with the BES? You would need to disable wireless sync on the device for the home computer sync then re-enable for the BES wireless sync.

Yes, my work computer (BES) does sync wirelessly. I did not yet try to turn off the wireless connection. I assume I do that from the 'manage connection' area?

No - on the blackberry in Calendar and Contacts - bring up the menu inside each then change wireless sync to No - not sure of exact steps for your model/OS
