I was down in Corpus Christi yesterday and stopped into a tm store. The guy told me that he could not show the 8100 to me but I convinced him otherwise. I must say that I was quite impressed, even the box is small. The trackball worked well and everything was instinctive to use. I did not make a call because the battery was low. There was a sticky note on top of the box with a date of the 12th. The guys at the store said they didnt have a price yet and had not been trained on it but were going to have a class before it launched.
I will say that I have decided to wait until cingular comes out with theirs. The recent chatter about quality concerns me and I think by the time cingular gets theirs we will definately know more about what to expect from the pearl and possibly what is coming in the next few months.
