Trying to synch my address book from my desktop to my 8530 Curve. An error appears saying:

Synchronization is currently unavailable for:

Address book

because the applications are currently configured for wireless synchronization

OK, so I go to the Help menu. It just tells me how to set a wireless synch up. It doesn't tell me how to disable it (since I don't have wireless to begin with).

So after reading some other posts about the same thing, the pattern I see is:

Go to address book
Select options
Disable wireless synchronization.

OK, fair enough. I go to address book. Select options. There's NOTHING THERE about wireless synch, just some nonsense about Wallpaper themes, Layout, Download Folders and Theme defaults.

I'm just about ready to pack this whole thing up and return the mofo. Either that, or heave it through some plate glass.

You're not in the right menu.
You're choosing Options from the Home screen... not from within the address book.
You need to go INTO the address book module, then press the menu button and choose Options.

OK, so I'm in the address book
Select General Options
Contacts Options

Views Sort by (first name/last name/company)
Separators (None/Stripes/Lines)

Actions

Allow duplicate names (yes/no)
Confirm Delete (yes/no)

Still nothing whatsoever to do with wireless synchronization

No, it's for my personal use, has nothing whatsoever to do with a company PC.

Nope. Just General Options, then one line underneath it reads Contact Lists and then my email address.

Go into Contact lists.
Wireless syncnronisation should be in there.

I have done everything described by this thread and my blackberry says that wireless sync is off. I have checked all my e-mail addresses and contact settings. And still I am getting the message that says wireless syncing is on. I am totally frustrated. Can anyone help?

And, you'll need to answer the same questions as above... are you on a personal BIS account or a corporate BES account?
