Talking Viigo RSS reader (AKA Newsclip) Now free!

Please Login to Remove!

Please correct me if i am wrong or this has been posted before. This is some great news. This is the best RSS reader for the blackberry so far! I just fell like i have to share the good news. This would save me 30$ a year! The only difference is that it is now a fugly green color compared to the classic blue and red original interface.

Okay i used to subscribe to virtual reach's newsclip rss reader for the last year and a half until about last week. It seems like virtual reach and blackberrycool have teamed up to offer newsclip, now called viigo, free =)
You can download it at the link below:
Virtual Reach Mobile

For reference Blackberrycool.com announced this in this post on their website:
BlackBerryCool » BlackBerry Cool Partners with Virtual Reach for BlackBerry Cool To Go

What is it different to the built-in browser from OS 4.2.x which it has the RSS feature?

This RSS reader stores the articles on the device and autoupdates them. It also allows you to manage it from their website. Other than that my favorite option is the del.icio.us support

It seems very similar to bloglines.com except that is stored online rather than local. I just installed the program and I might delete it since I do not have an external memory card to store the articles on the device :(

Yup, works perfectly fine with BIS -- it even supports BIS-B (instead of WAP APN) via auto-detect, or you can go into the config and directly set it to BIS-B. (you can also directly set it to WAP or TCP)

Picked this up, seems to be working great for me minus a few bugs here and there in options I don't use anyway.

This is a very impressive app, and makes keeping up with news items much easier.

I have been using NewsClip from last 7 months and it has been free since then. like both NewsClip and the built in browser rss feature. I use browser based more.

Since I don't have free access to APN, only BIS connectivity, this is a lifesaver!
