I just tried again on another pc...i installed desktop manager v4.7 and connected the phone to the cable (phone with battery and without simcard). Clicked on application loader and then "add/remove application". It said total application space 74 MB. The process then started and stopped abruptly and said "fatal error has occured". Any ideas?

It sounds like it is having a problem while trying to start the backup. Pull the battery out for 20 seconds and then put it back in. After it boots up, try to run AppLoader.

Did you install the latest OS on to your PC? Desktop Manager doesn't have the software built-in. You need to install the OS to your PC, then when you run AppLoader, it will see the new version and ask if you want to upgrade.

Do i need to download OS file from same carrier or i can download from different carrier? Also, should i download same current version or latest version? I need arabic, russian and portuguese languages for update so what file should i download? I really had no idea that latest OS had to be installed for Desktop Manager to work. Thanks guys and please reply. You guys made my day.

I believe this is the latest OS that has the languages you're looking for:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ast-asian.html
Follow the instructions exactly and select the OS that says "English and Multilanguage"

The instructions are in the link. Just make sure you delete the vendor.xml file as it states. And the option to install the languages will show up after you install the OS and run AppLoader.
