Hello All,

How do you hard reset the BB 8700 and restore it to the factory settings?

Get to "Options" and then select "Security Options", and "General Settings"
Click the wheel and select "Wipe Handheld"
Follow the prompts.

I tried doing this but some of the previously installed software/apps are still there. How can you reset the 8700 so that it is back to factory settings?

There is a sticky thread in the General BlackBerry discussion forum about using a program called "Javaloader" to completely wipe out your BB - everything. Then you reload the handheld OS and off you go.

Search for and then download Javaloader..

Try using the desktop manager application loader. Select the advanced tab from the screen that appears when you click next on the screen that shows all of your loaded applications...and the option to clear the BB will be there. It resets it to factory fresh...last time I did it it wiped everything, including the applications I had installed but left the OS on the BB untouched.
