Default blackberry storm with t-mobile any problems?

Please Login to Remove!

hey,

so i used to have a bb storm when they first came out and used it with tmobile but always had a problem with the edge on it. it kept changing from EDGE to edge and i got tired of it and went and picked up a bold.

for anyone that uses their storm with t-mobile what are your thoughts? is it worth going back to? or should i stick with the bold. the one thing i miss about the storm is the big screen.

let me know what you think.

thanks!

just picked mine up yesterday. unlocked it and got it up and running fine. Don't seem to have any issues with EDGE/edge. Might be my location too. Am very happy with the storm, couldn't resist for only $200. Big improvement over my 8120. Can't believe how much faster the processor is. Still a little buggy at times, but that's what you get with first release, and not for your network as well. Very happy with it. and you're right, the big screen is nice. I might actually be able to dump my ipod touch now.

How did you get it unlocked? I'm thinking of switching from VZW to T-Mo but was wondering how to unlock it.

If you have been with VZW for a while try to get them to unlock it for free. Tell them that you're going to be doing some traveling outside of VZW coverage area. It might not work but the worst that can happen is that they say no. Then pay to unlock it. If you have to pay then check out Horizon Wireless. They did my 8100 and 8320.. they will probably end up doing my 9530 as well.

i cant believe you went to the storm after all that stuff you did. i got the 8900 too and i would say get the 8900 vs the storm its OS is alot more stable than the storms OS

The link that Robbeane is talking about is the one that I used. It works great. I love the storm over my pearl that I was using for personal use, and better than my 8350i that my work pays for. Wish my work would get off Nextel and get me a Bold. Everyone I talk to loves the bold.

I'm experiencing the same problem. My EDGE keeps going to edge and I'm getting no data. It is extremely frustrating. Does the the taylor guys guide help with the edge problem?

I tried loading the tmo service books onto my unlocked 9530 and that did not help with the edge problem. Does anybody have any troublshooting tips to fix this?
