Default T-Mobile 8900 vs T-Mobile 8820

Just thought I'd ask for opinions on the comparison between these two. I currently have the 8820 and have ordered the 8900 upgrade. One of the things I love about the 8820 is the form factor and the keyboard. Will the 8900 meet my expectations in those two areas? I hope so, I wanted a newer blackberry with a nice camera and faster processor.

You said you have already ordered.. trust me you will be the best person to judge your usage pattern. Folks out here will give out their thought process but may be none of them will be applicable for you.

My wife uses a 8820.. it is good phone but it does not a camera and it is a little big as compared to 8320. 8900 on the other has almost all features packed in (- 3g) with a smaller form factor. I too have ordered 8900 and I should have it tomorrow. Trust me you're gonna love 8900.

I had a curve 8320 and just received my 8900. They are about the same size, though the 8900 feels smaller to me. Both are smaller than the 8820. If you like the larger form factor, you may not like the 8900. You might be better off looking for an unlocked Bold, which is a bit bigger.

Wirelessly posted

Thanks raja and sjsilverman. I really appreciate the input. I'll post my thoughts after I receive the 8900 on thursday.

received my 8900 today and have some first impressions.... True the form factor is smaller and the keys are essentially closer compared to the 8820. Even so, I've gotten used to the keys. I prefer the key feel on the 8820 though being more "bouncy". But, WOW! the display on the 8900 is flat amazing. I typically wear glasses for reading and have to strain to see the text on the 8820. Not with the 8900 - the screen is so bright and characters so clear I can use it without glasses (of course I increase the size of the font on both the theme and browser.). And it is fast fast fast... The camera and video capability are great as well.... I love the video light, which I guess is not such a new feature.... just new to me. and I also appreciate the headphone jack using the 3.5mm - much better then the 8820.... so all in all I have to say - I can live with the key difference.... because the speed and the screen are just such a huge difference.... and I want to stay with tmobile - not interested in unlocking a BOLD just for the keyboard...
