Default Installing .133 problem

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so I just got my new 8900, trying to install .133 from the sticky and I cannot, for the life of me, find the darn file I'm supposed to delete?!?! Am I completely missing something?

I downloaded the 124mg, ran as administrator, go through the install process, look in my common files folder and there's no "Research In Motion" folder. Any ideas for me? I've been at this all day and just can't figure it out LOL. It's installed somewhere, I assume, but I sure can't see it.

Have you installed both the DM and OS?

Try searching for "vendor.xml" maybe you can find it that way?

you must be kidding !!! alright I assume you have installed both Desktop Manager 4.6 and the handheld software v4.6.1.133. Once done you will find "vendor.xml" at

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in motion\Apploader".

You can also install DM 4.7 but I guess 4.7 does not recognise the beta versions of the OS.

Hope this helps !!!

Wow - totally NOT kidding. I wouldn't be posting here looking like a moron if I was .

I actually have DM 4.7, so I will try to downgrade to 4.6 and see if that works?!

I have searched my entire harddrive for the vendor file and it literally can't find it anywhere. I'll keep trying.

I should also add that I'm running vista 64 bit, which seems to have caused problems in other regards for me in the past, so if that rings a bell with anyone, lmk

Vista and DM 7 dont get along...so 4.6 might be worth trying
