I am having a very strange issue with my Blackberry Bold 9900 running software version 7.1.0.523.

After I answer phone calls from certain private numbers, if i make an outgoing phone call after this the number on my display will switch to "private number" and not be logged in the call log. The only way to fix this is when a non private number phone call is received or to take out the sim and put it back in again.

I have replaced SIM, wiped and reloaded OS, but still experiencing the same issues.

My carrier does not know what to advise, all they are saying now is send the handset in for repair. But it is quite clearly not a hardware issue, something about certain private numbers is distorting the caller ID for dialled numbers on the phone?

Have you thought about downgrading to OS 7.0.0.xxx?

I assume that you never experienced these call log issues on 7.0? I thought VUK's latest official OS was 7.1.0.342, not that I expect a difference or anything. Either an OS/Carrier bug or a carrier issue.

yes downgrading to 7.0.xxx seems to work.
yes i tried both the vodafone official release and the newest one for 7.1. Very strange bug! getting a bit tired of blackberry nowadays.
