Default Sync issues with Outlook.

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to sync my Outlook with my 8100 with no luck.

This issue just surfaced with the installation of DM 4.5 and the new .55 OS on my AT&T BB 8100.

Whenever I go to the Configuration page for Sync'ing, it will allow me to go all the way thru to the end where it says "Congratulations, you have successfully configured the product..." blah, blah, blah.

Whenever I click on finish, I'm getting a Runtime error box that says "cannot find system in table file."

I get the same error on whichever portion of Outlook I try to configure, whether it be my address boo, calender or memo/ task pad.

Anyone have any insight to this, or a method to correct it. I was able to sync flawlessly until I upgraded to 4.5.

Thanks in advance...

Ok. Hook up your BB to PC. Click on Backup/Restore and back up your phone. (So you don't lose anything) After that click Advance in the backup/restore window

Delete the Handheld databases for Address Book , Calendar, (Basically whatever you sync.

After you delete the databases set up the sync again and try to sync. It should be fine. If not PM me and I'll give you additional stuff you can try. Good luck

The following steps, which are posted on the RIM Support will work; however, I had to do it a different way. In Step 1, it states that the ilxolkCompanion.fil is located in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector path...however, when I searched for this file, it was actually located in C:\Program Files\Blackberry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector. (This could be because I upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.5 w/o completing a clean uninstall...not too sure why)

Once I located the file through the command prompt, I unregistered as per the instructions in Step 1. I then followed step 2 exactly word for word...and VOILA!!! I now have Version 4.5 working with MS Outlook 2007

Resolution
If the Connectors folder is still present in C\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector, follow these steps:

Unregister the old Microsoft Outlook connector ilxolkCompanion.fil.
Open the command prompt.
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Connectors\MS Outlook Connector.
Type in the command regsvr32 -u ilxolkCompanion.fil.
In Desktop Manager, Microsoft Outlook will no longer be listed as an available desktop application.
Register the most current Microsoft Outlook connector.
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector.
Type in the command regsvr32 msoutlookconnector.fil.
In Desktop Manager, Microsoft Outlook will now be registered as an available desktop application.
Once these steps have been completed, configure synchronization again.

To navigate to command prompt: click on start, run, and in the box type in "cmd" (without the quotes) You will then see a black box pop up. Hope this helps.

I reverted back to desktop manager 4.2.2 sp2 and it works flawlessly now. I'm still using Outlook XP (Outlook 2002) and I've been told that there are compatibility issues with it and the new DM v4.5.

Thanks for the response, I will keep it handy for when I upgrade to Outlook 2007. (shortly)

In the meantime, 2002 with DM 4.2 and OS 4.5.0.55 works great.

Just wanted to make an update to this thread. I recently switched to an 8310 and upgraded the stock AT&T OS to the new Rogers 4.5.0.81 OS.

Since I was running DM 4.2.2 sp2, I figured that it was time for an upgrade to DM v4.6. As soon as I attempted to set up the Sync, I got the same exact error message as before.

Following gqstatus's advice resolved the issue. A simple search at RIM's support website brought up the appropriate fix as well. Thanks again, I appreciate your help!

Here is the link to the RIM support site's fix, as also posted above;
