Default 8100 cannot connect

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I have a Pearl 8100 from my last job. I have since left the company but was allowed to keep it. The network I was on with the company was Vodafone. I have tried inserting my personal alternative Vodafone SIM card but to no avail. Without the SIM inserted the phone will connect up fine and can navigate easily but obviously not make calls etc. When I take the battery out to insert the SIM and turn on, I get the constant rotating image and cannot get through to the phones navigation and content.

I have restored the factory settings and have desktop manager on my PC

Can anyone help please

If the device was corporate it's probably got an IT Policy on it that restricts usage.

Hi,
Have now done method 1 and it would seem that the IT Policy has gone as I cannot see it in then Security section of the phone navigation.
However once again I have put my SIM card in and it still wont work. There is a slight difference this time. The screen will go bright with then rotating image (no red light), then it goes off and the red light stays on for about 5 seconds, This then repeats itself.??????

Any ideas

Many Thanks for your response

The operating system on the phone at the moment is 4.5.0.55.

I have searched the Blackberry website and cant find reference to the latest OS for the 8110 Pearl. Could you let me know where I can get it and also how I install it please

Many thanks

If you look at the sticky at the top of the 8100 section, you can find the latest OS for your deice. Remember, you must install an OS for your specific device, meaning an 8110 OS will not work on the 8100, etc.
