I'm on my last attempt to unlock my blackberry device (8900) 9/10. I changed my last password (6 Chars length password) into a simple 3 chars length password so I thought it would save me from hassle typing those 6 chars length password. New password is "war". And I did carefully recheck it before I entered twice (second time to verify my new password) plus typed it down on a piece of paper. So I'm pretty sure that I didn't type the wrong new password when I tested it by locking my keypad.
The thing that might be a problem is this :
BlackBerry smartphones support individual security passwords between four and fourteen characters in length. The use of the password is designed to ensure that only the BlackBerry smartphone user can access the information stored on the BlackBerry smartphone.
So the rule is between four and fourteen chars in length. But I only submitted three chars length password. Is this a bug or a feature? So any insight to get around this? Or I'm just doomed losing all my data?
Or it didn't get changed and the 6 char password is still in effect. When I tried to duplicate what you did, a dialog indicated the new password was too short.
