This notification has been coming up repeatedly:

"You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate is not trusted" and I have three choices: Continue-Close- Connection-View Certificates and Trust Certificate.

Do I select Trust Certificate or Close Connection? This been happening for several days now.

My OS is a hybrid: v5.0.0.748 (Bundle 1262, Platform 5.2.0.67)

I am considering downgrading to 5.0.0.681

Any suggestions?

trust certificate. Close connection would stop whatever you are trying to access.

Well, don't just blindly trust a certificate.
What website are you trying to visit when you get this message?
If not a website, then what third-party apps are on your device that might be trying to open a secure connection.

The message you're getting isn't just a random thing. Something on your device is trying to do something, and the message is a warning that it might be unsafe.

You should also see an option to 'View Certificate'. It should give you more information about what's going on.

It depends on if you trust the site and just click trust.

I've got the same thing going on.

if I pick trust, I get asked to choose a new key store password and then confirm it. (I'd like to avoid passwording things on the phone lest I forget and lock it up)

I have three certificates with red x's. if I try to delete them I get asked to set a password (see above)

should I even be trying to delete the bad certificates? all three are verisign, recently expired, I can't tell what is trying to use them

do I need to suck it up and set the password?

I am getting that when using Google Maps, not sure if it's Google Maps causing it or not, but it seems to coincide with that program being open.

I saw some threads that said to check the date and time. My date and time were correct, but I did the Update Time anyway and then saved it. Seems like it cleared up my cert issue.

I just tried this and i will let you know if this cleared up the issue completely

Count me in, too. I've been getting this message on my camera, video camera, and Google Maps. I just tried updating my time. We'll see what happens.

Ive just updated my OS to the 5.0.0.822 OS and im not having the problem anymore

I installed the Hybrid 6.0 and that slowed down the notifications somewhat.

Not sure is I will install the new 822.

I go into settings/options/security options/advanced security options/certificates I notice that there certificates with a red "x" in front of them and when I look at those, they are listed as implicitly trusted but most of them have and expiration date that has already passed. What would happen if I deleted those with the red "x"s?

Example: Anny Way WAP Root, expired cert chain, stale chain status, revocation status Nov 30, 2001, implicitly trusted.

Any info would be welcome!
