Unhappy Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,

I'm a bit lost in this Forum, so I'm sorry if my question has already been asked.

My 9-month old Blackberry went crazy today. After the screen froze and I took the battery out, and restarted it, the whole system had gone mad. Whatever button I press, it types in "+ouououo" etc by itself. Or does something else really weird. Every button seems to have a different function now, but not the one I need.

I would like to get it repaired, but feel a bit uncomfortable with leaving my phone, which contains a lot of important emails, etc, with a complete stranger.

I cannot access my phone's menu to restore it to factory settings, nor even delete emails individually. Are there any other ways of restoring my phone to factory settings, or removing my email accounts from the phone? Any ways of doing it via my PC while the phone is connected to it? Any softwares?

Thank you for your help.

Did the device get wet? Sounds like it might.

I think it might have got just bit damp while it was in my pocket while rollerskating. Nothing major, just a misty screen. It was probably enough to mess everything up!

Thought so. Most likely if it got damp and you didn't pull the battery immediately, it is toast. You can try removing the battery and placing it in a bag of rice for 4 to 5 days and see if that helps. Not likely but worth a try.

Furthermore, the issue sounds like it is caused by a moisture related incident, therefore BBSAK won't fix anything, so you're just wasting the guy's time.

If you're not going to be helpful, then please don't respond.

She. That should explain everything. Girls + technology don't mix ;) LOL

BBSAK won't fix the problem, but if I understood correctly, it will probably help me restore the factory settings, (e.g. delete all my emails), as the buttons don't work properly, and I cannot do it manually.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help guys, I'll try the rice bag thing too.
