Default Open Tunnel Failure?

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to use this on the new BB Pearl (8100) and keep getting an "Open Tunnel Failure" message every time I try to use the software. I tried changing the Proxy setting to Handheld but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know a fix for this?

You can edit the upload and download settings for this app. Go to options and timezone.

Since I am in the Pacific (-8hours) I put -07:00 for the upload and +07:00 for the download. Seems that the Gcal guy is in the same Timezone as the Azores. FOr Mountain use 6, Central 5, and Eastern 4.

Bugs.

Duplicates (trips, etc.) in the Google Web Calendar.
Will not sync one particular calendar item (it is the exact same as a few that do sync)
Doesn't seem to hold the time zone offset settings across sessions.

Recomendation:

This guy needs testers, but use a test gmail account since it really spams your account as it is now. Until he fixes these bugs (I am using 1.1.1) I recommend you wait unless you are one of the rather small crew of die-hard beta testers (guilty here...)

This app has the potential to do what we want it to do, so test away guy!
I'm on eastern and this seem to do the trick. Now we just need a way to sync the spreadsheets and we'll be good to go!

Default GCalSync for Hosted gmail & calendar

Does GCalSync work for calendars that are linked to Hosted gmail accounts?
I can not get my blackberry to connect.

Default got it working on Cingular

just need to set the Options > Advanced Options > TCP settings to:

*capitalization counts!*

APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN: [email address]
Password for APN: CINGULAR1

You might get the occasional error, but at least on my antiuqe 7100 it's probably due to sluggish gprs speeds. Edge & UTMS might get much better response with less timeouts.

Woohoo - time for a happy dance!

with your settings and offsetting the timezone to match, it works pretty well on my 8700c with Cingular--thx!!!!

one thing though....I can't seem to get ALL of my appointments to sync--strange...any thoughts?

please help me i really want this program because i am not on a bes or exchange mail server.. i wonder if more than one person can sync with the same gmail calender and account

This has helped me when I got that message : Several users (mostly BlackBerry but also Nokia) have reported success after disabling proxy. Special thanks to

Craig Foley was the first to report this solution to me - he might have or might not have picked up the solution from jengen in this thread. Craig sent these instructions on how to disable proxy on BlackBerry:

* Choose Options -> Security Options -> TLS -> TLS Default
* Choose Handheld (not "Proxy")

I got it to work the first try. Make sure you can view your google calender before you start to try syncing anything. Works great. I have a blackberry 8700 unlocked on cingular OS 4.0.1.377. Just installed it and it didnt work at first so i tried and checked to make sure i could log into my google calender and realized i didnt sign up for it. so once i signed up for the calender it then allowed me to sync with my blackberry.

I have the 8100 and I have tried everything labeled in this thread, and I still can't get it to work. I am getting open tunnel failure.

Any other insight?

Don't feel bad. I have a 8700G and I perform the connection test and everything checks out but I still can't sync.

I can't get the time zones synced. I put it in google calendar as 1pm and it syncs to my Pearl as 6pm. Anyone know how to fix this?
