Default 8700 C - phone book transfer to car

Please Login to Remove!

I'm about to make a purchase of a 8700C. My current phone (with vzw) is a v710 and the phone book is blocked from being transfered to my Jaguar X type. I am trying to research if this is a poblem with the 8700C. Anyone know

Unlike past RIM devices and software, the OS 4.1 on the 8700 now supports Bluetooth wireless addressbook transfer. This is the good news. (Note: This can be overriden by BES admins for security reasons, so this may be a problem if you are a government worker).

HOWEVER... Not all cars are supported yet at this time. This is the bad news. Best to check the RIM supported list when the 8700 actually gets released.

Does this newly supported feature allow for syncing it to a computer? e.g. could I sync it with a PowerBook? Currently I can pair my 7250 with my PowerBook but unable to sync it without using USB.

OS 4.1 does support BT sync however you need a BT adapter that's Win XP-SP2 supported. Search the BT forum for additional info.
