Default Please help unistalling Software from Laptop

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a newbie here with Blackberry software.

My story. A user of mine had his Blackberry 8303e software installed on his WindowsXP laptop. He now has purchased a Blackberry 8330. He installed the software that came with the new phone and cannot get it to sync with the laptop.

It appears that the old 8303e software installed on the laptop is somehow affecting this. So our thought was to uninstall it. However, we cannot get this unistalled. it keeps asking for the path to the "Blackberry 8303e.msi" file. We've searched the entire hard drive and installation disks and cannot find the msi file to unstall this version of the software. All other attempts to unistall have failed. There appear to be two instances of the software in the Control Panel's "Add and Remove Programs" app.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can uninstall the Blackberry software from the laptop before having to reformat?

And Thanks in advance for anyone willing to throw their two cents in.

Do a google for Microsoft installer cleanup utility.

Download and install the utility, when you run it you should find an entry for the software you are trying to get rid, remove the entry from that utility.

Download a program called total uninstaller. Just the trial. Then, remove it. This nice little piece of software removes everything from that program including registry entries and such. I use it on every computer I work on.

Or go on google and type in "download Blackberry 8303e.msi" to see where the file is located or where it should be. If you don't have that file, download it and paste it into the directory

Ran into this issue today at work, on my own laptp none the less.

Installing and running the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility to remove the device manually does fix this issue. (ironic how it happens to today lol)
