Default SIM Card

Please Login to Remove!

I had to replace my BB today and the sales peeps at the store told me I could not store my contacts to the SIM card...

What is that all about...There is an option in the 7520 to read/save to sim card...why would they say that?

I don't think that is provider specific, you should be able to store up to 250 contacts. I have most importanct contacts on my T-mo SIM and 3 days back I had to change the SIM and they coped all my contacts from SIM to new SIM.

Can you still read your old BB? If so use the Backup/Restore feature of the desktop software.
The latest OS allows you to read from/copy to the SIM. As joginder stated you can only store 250 on the SIM.

you cant read the address from the phone to the sim on the 7520 but can read the sim card to the 7520 theres a big difference. and if you use anything bigger than the 32k sim you wont be able to do either

You can not write to the sim card! Only read I have tried and tried and it cant be done, I am looking at the options right now it plainly says read sim card no option to write. This is the third one I have verified this on this morning. Now you can Hit new and type in the information but you cant just select an address and copy it to the sim card.

Not sure what the difference is, but I can select an address, click the trackwheel and "Copy to Sim Phone Book" is an option for me. I have copied to the sim phone book a few of my important dc and phone #s then moved my sim to my weekend fone and the numbers are there.

Are we talking 2 different topics maybe?

Dawg, as you know I have the same phone as you, Nextel 7520. I didn't have the copy to SIM phone book until I first opened the SIM phonebook. After that I was able to click on an address and Copy To SIM Phone Book is an option. You do have to do it one at a time, but you can copy the whole entry. From the SIM book you can copy them all to the address book.

(Still in Texas, one more week to go!)

maybe that was the problem I hadnt opened the sim phone book before. I just checked another unit and that is what the issues is untill you have opened the sim phone book you wont see copy to sim address book. Well that solves that mystery

Default help; 7520 address book from i730 sim card

So let me get this straight, as I am sure there are other users who are NOT quite sure just how this goes.
I take my i730 sim, copy its contents to the sim that comes with the 7520 ( i presume is 32k?) then copy those contacts over to the 7520 address book????
Do I need any soft ware upgrade to do this or is the 4.0 that came on disk with the 7520 sufficient?

What do you do if you have more contacts stored on the 64k sim than the 32k will handle? Are some trunicated? Which? Sorry to be so dense.

BTW; this is my wifes BB, if she could have only been happy with her NEX i 730/ TMO 7100 combo this would be a non issue...
