Question How to save phone book contacts directly to my SIM card

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
In the Motorola Phones that I have, I used to have this functionality where when I create a new contact, I can choose whether to store the contact in the phone or in the SIM card, and I can call a number from my SIM card just the same way as I would call a number on the phone and I could edit the numbers stored in the SIM card directly as well. I am just wondering whether BB would have this functionality for me to store my new contacts in SIM card but not in the phone and edit the contacts stored in the SIM card. Thanks!

Regards,
Anyi

The Sim card only stores one number per name. The address book in the BB stores much more than that. 3 email addresses, home address, work address, pin, 5 or 6 phone numbers, etc. You want to store them in the BB. That's how it was designed to work. That being said, I store all my coworkers names and mobile numbers on my sim card just in case I need to transfer to another phone for any reason.

Exactly, because I switch back and forth very often, so I would like to get all my numbers on my SIM card and edit them on my SIM card as well
Anyone has any clue?
Thanks!

Uh, I have a clue. You can load one number per name onto your sim card. You have to do it one name/number at a time from your address book. Find the contact to move. Put your cursor on the number you want to put on the sim card. Then hit the menu key and select "copy to sim phone book."

I don't recommend this instead of numbers in the BB phone book.

If you want to dial a number from the sim phone book, you have to go to the sim phone book first.

Ah, so there is no "mass-copying tool" around for BB then...
Thanks a lot still.

Nope. One at a time. You can do a mass copy from the sim card to the BB address book, but not the other way around.
