I resotred Acronis image of the BES server (4.1) on a second server with slightly different hardware. I did universal resotore and then installed the drivers. everything went smooth. The two servers have the same IP. I switched the first server off and the second one on. The emails are not delivered to the blackberry devices. The configurations are the same. Is there anything i have to do on the exchange serve?
Details... What vers bes? What OS? Does BES SRP show connected? Can you communicate on the rest of the domain? Any other non-bb related strange behaviors? Obviously the host name didn't change right? Is DB on a separate box or on the same?
thank you for your reply. The system is 4.1 under windows server 2003. It has SQL server 2005 which is included in he image. The server name didnt change. all is the same. SRP shows connected.I can connect to the domain.
I just noticed one error in the event viewer says "Blackberry messaging agent failed to start. Error code 5302".
I can imagine you will run into trouble if you replace a machine running windows server with a machine having the same name.
(the machine account has most likely a different ID)
remove the Server from the domain,
change the machines name
add it to the domain.
