Default 3G Testing

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 9700 on the T-Mobile network. It is allegedly 3G but I really don't see any speed whatsoever. I cannot tell the difference between when it says 3G or EDGE, it's equally miserably slow for internet.

Is there a way to test the speed to see if this 3G is doing me any good? Is it just T-Mobile.

My experience with Verizon 3G blackberries is that you can stream video and audio. That would never happen on 3G with my phone. I need to be on wifi for that.

Is the 9700 a t-mobile branded device? If so, then you could be on 3G if you are in a 3G area. If it is ATT 9700 then you can't get 3G on TMO as it doesn't have the radio frequencies for TMO.

Speed is a function of many different things, not just the device.
