Hi,

I am having a problem with a brand new Bold 9700 with the last software version. (I also tried to downgrade to the previous version)

When I am in my car using the bluetooth headset connection (no third party carkit, just the original one), my Blackberry seems to switch to "mute" randomly.

I am not touching my device so it is not a manipulation problem.

I am only aware of this problem when the other end suddenly does not hear me anymore ! It really happens randomly and I am unable to recreate the problem.

I suspect it is happening when I have a Bluetooth connection in my car since I do not have that problem when I use the phone normally.

I just upgraded to the 9700. I had the Curve 8900 before and never had that problem.

Any clue?

i had this problem when moving from the 9000 to the 9700. - i found when i did the backup/restore to the new device, it had copied over the Bluetooth options.

if you delete the paring, and re-pair, it should be fine.

I think you are right, I did a backup of the 8900 and restore it to the new (and different) device, bluetooth options included...

I am going to hard reset the bold to reinitialise everything.
