Can you install on top of the old software, or do you have to uninstall first?

Yes. I installed over 4.7. Required a reboot.

Looks like it supports bluetooth sync w/out having to use the basic Windows BT stack, e.g., Widcomm is OK.

I wasn't able to sync w/previous versions using BT.

Dang...crashed after contact sync completed and during calendar sync...but it was syncing via BT!

Crash apparently doesn't have anything to do w/BT...crashes w/USB sync as well...

May have to go back to 4.7...<sigh>

WOOT!

Fixed it...did the following, likely #2 may have been the key step...

1. Renamed my sync folder to clear all sync settings/data
2. Removed all calendar entries from my BB
3. Sync'd successfully via USB

Then made a couple changes on both BB and Outlooked and sync'd via BT successfully.

This is on a Vista 32 system.

5_1_.0.0_Release021_multilanguage.exe (aka v5.0) is hugely faster than 470_b050_english_nomediamanager.exe

Wow!!!

I installed without uninstalling 4.7 and it worked fine. All my sync settings were preserved. I did get an error message about a USB device failing to install when I plugged my 8830 in, but I tried again and it worked.
