Default Verizon 7130 Stuck at Boot

Please Login to Remove!

Just got the 7130 today. All seemed find. Did the enterprise activation.

About an hour after the activation completed and I used it a bit, the device rebooted. At reboot, all I get is the hourglss on top of the Verizon screen. I pulled the battery several times and even left it for an hour.

Still stuck with the hour glass.

Anyone have any ideas?

I was able to delete and reinstall the device software that I downloaded from the verizon site.

I had to make sure that it deleted the existing software on the device.

It is working. The Verizon Rep recommended I get a new one, which I am.

Anyone have an idea why this happened? The only thing I did was activate on service and also switch to to another theme that was already on the phone.

Since I never checked before the phone went belly up, what is the software version that came on the phone. Is it the same as the ony you can download?

7130eM_PBr4.1.0_rel92_PL2.2.0.53_A4.1.0.117.exe

thanks,

Mike

Well, during activation it crapped out again. My guess is it is not the activation or BES, just an defective phone.

I did another wipe and reinstall of the os last night. I let it activate over night. Left it plugged in too.

This morning the activation was complete and the phone is still operating.

Anyone have an idea why this would happen? I have a new one coming from Verizon and am curious if this issue is specific to this device or it is a software or network issue and may happen on the new one.

thanks,

Mike

Well, so far so good. Has not reset al day.

I still have no idea what corrupted the os or if it is a bad device and just has not happened today.

One thing I can note is that I did play with it while it was doing the enterprise actrivation the first two times and I ahd the crashes and had to reinstal the device software.

For the third time, I did not touch it once the activation started.

Maybe playing with it during activation caused the software to get corrupted.

Just guessing.

I think I solved my issue. It hink the issue is that when I went from the 7250 to the 7130 I had mailstreet activate the new BB. According to the tech I spoke to tonight, he made it clear that you must delete and then readd the user to the BES. Sounds like the tech yesterday only reset it to reavtivate and never deleted and then readded.

I guess the fist sign should have been during the activation, it was synching everything to include call logs, ribbon bar locations, etc... the hourglass issue might have been from the settings differences.

Tonight when I tried it again, the new tech deleted and then readded. During activation, instead of 4 hours it took 20 minutes and all the settings had to be redone (before it downloaded settings and autosig, etc...) and it did not download call logs or anything.

Hope this is it and hope this helps others.
