Default App to do a hard reset on 7130????

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a lawyer, so by definition I'm sort of useless to society. But someone who knows how to write blackberry apps could really help me out:

Would it be possible to develop a small app to replace the "Turn Power Off" app for the 7100 series devices? The app I'm thinking of would offer the option to turn power off, to do a soft reset, or to do a hard reset. I think all 7100 series users would find this usefull. For me, I live near the coast, and while I get a strong signal on cingular in most, I often get no signal when I'm within a half mile or so of the ocean. Usually, if I'm out of range too long, the device goes into powersave mode and I have to do a hard reset to get it a signal. I'm sure others have their own reasons for doing frequent hard resets and taking the battery out and popping it back in is kind of a hassle. Not a huge hassle, but a problem that I'd like not to have.

Thanks in advance to anyone that chooses to tackle this.

Joe

hmm, will helping a lawyer go against my morals??? :P

not sure if you'll be able to replace the built-in turnoff app but i'll look into it. it might be easier to write a small utility that resets your signal somehow so it'll re-aquire your telco signal.

Helping me won't go against your morals, unless you work for Inland Revenue. I'm a tax lawyer. I help people and companies pay fewer taxes. How can that be a bad thing?

Even a simple app to do a hard reset or, as you suggest, to reset the signal some how, would be a good.
