Exclamation Knowledge Sharing - Call logs, SMS text messages, and email messages are deleted on t

Please Login to Remove!

Have a technical discussion with a few colleagues. Someone points the fingers to BES deleting messages. I say NAY! BES will never initiate any deletion, unless user specifically uses the "Delete on: Mailbox & Handheld" from the BlackBerry itself.

Some pointers if your heavy users or users who like to install lots of cool BlackBerry applications can end up losing email and sms

Overview

Call logs, Short Message Service (SMS) text messages, email messages, and calendar items are being automatically deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone. On the Status screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, the File Free field indicates low memory.

Cause
This issue may be caused by one of the following:

(1) A number of large applications are installed on the BlackBerry smartphone
(2) A large amount of BlackBerry smartphone user data is present on the BlackBerry smartphone that cannot be removed by the Low Memory Manager
(3) Media settings may be contributing to low memory capacity
(4) An application has expanded beyond intended memory boundaries

Wirelessly posted

You start losing call logs, sms, e-mails, etc, when your device is running out of working memory (space) and so it will remove the oldest information to get the working memory (space) that it needs.

You will notice that your BlackBerry moves very sluggish as well when this is happening.

To prevent this happening, you will have to free up some memory (space). This can be by uninstalling unused application, removing unnecessary e-mails, sms, and logs.

BES will not delete!
