I have had two new Blackberry Perls with the same problem... The only thing that restores the ringer is removing the battery and resetting the phone. However, this is only a temporary fix.
Is anyone else having a ringer problem and is there a way to fix this....?
I'm off to the T-mobile store to try a third Blackberry Perl phone... wish me luck!!
It works for the first day or so then the ringer just stops. Doesn't matter which profile you change it too...Doesn't ring! I've had the people at the T-mobile store and tech support check-it out and they have no answers... we have tried just about everything...! The problems are identical with each new phone! Crazy, huh?
Yes, but keep in mind the keypad lock does nothing to the trackball. It's a major issue with the software on this phone. The second you touch the trackball, the ringer mutes. Have you tried to call yourself with the phone sitting still on the table? On a regular ring mode.... Oh and does it vibrate? You can change ring tones by going into advanced. Then choose type, and select "phone". Pick a nice loud ring. Back out and save... Then give yourself a test call while it's sitting on the counter.

No, i don't touch the trackball... sometimes it sits on my desk and i see the screen light up when someone is calling but no ring! I've tried all the ringer settings and profiles as well. What's weird is the same problem with the other new Perl phone... oh, it doesn't ring out when i call someone.. i forgot about that problem...
No, it doesn't vibrate either... sucks!
I've tried calling myself with another phone...no ring...
If i call myself on the cell it goes to voicemail...
You tried resetting it by taking out the battery? If that doesn't work, go to options - advanced options - host routing table - press menu button on any of the HRT editor files - register now. I got mines to work that way when I first got it. Had to call on the good folks at T-mobile for that one.
