I cant seem to find the program files after the download. They are not in the common files folder, they are nowhere to be found. I have downloaded the file to my desktop, ran the program but cant find the folder to do the following.
c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
Anyone with suggestions on what I did incorrectly would be appreciated.

.411 would not connect to my wifi and I run static ip on my phone. After upgrading to .461 wifi was working and will auto connect to my wifi with no issues

Visual Voicemail Issues
All,
I upgraded today to OS version 5.0.0.760/5.0.0.461. Upgrade went "okay" (for some reason DM v5.01 crashed when reloading my data, so I just restored the backup manually and all was fine.)
Everything appears to be working normally, with exception of voicemail. When someone calls, and leaves a voicemail, I receive NO VM indicator (visual or icon). I logged on to the TMO website, changed my blackberry, added VVM to my account, resent service books, hard rebooted, and reregistered my phone. Nothing seemed to work.
To add an even more weirdness, to the mix - if I set the greeting via the VVM app on the BB, the greeting callers hear is different than the one I set (its my old greeting.) Also, if I attempt to change my PW via the VVM app, it tries to update the server and then hangs, displaying the message "Please wait while your password is being changed..." If I attempt to escape out of it, I get the same message in a pop-up. I can switch out of the VVM app, but when I return to it, its still on the same screen.
Lastly, when I leave myself a voicemail, I can see the BB receiving data immediately after I hang up the phone. As if it was going to alert me to the new voice mail - but no joy.
Any thoughts? Thanks ahead of time!

Okay, I was able to load the software using my notebook which has XP instead of Vista which my desktop has and I had originally tried. I have a small quirky problem and am wondering if anyone has the same issue. My ringtones have sped up a bit, for an example I have CTU's old ringer(not the current CTU which is airing now). Is there a way to add a pause between the ring cycle's?

borrow a SIM from somebody else or tell your carrier you want to add the service, use for a day or two, then cancel (they will only charge you for the partial use...)
or, you should be able to upgrade after doing a full / complete wipe...

still getting SOS, and sim not recognized
Hey,
I have downloaded the new operating system...and followed the instructions here, twice just to make sure i have done it correctly.
But it is still saying that the sim card is not recognized....the phone is DEFINITELY unlocked, and I DEFINITELY have the sim inserted correctly.
I see this is a problem others have had..but Im yet to find a thread with a successful answer..
can anybody help?
Thanks

Alarm issues
Just a small thing that i think people shold know about / help me test.
The alarm seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it will work, and some times it wont. This morning was the 3rd time *this week* that the alarm did not go off! the phone turned on (auto on) just like it was supposed to, but i never heard anything coming out of the speaker....
Also, 2x these past 2 weeks, the alarm has failed to go off because the batter was *dead*. I went to sleep around 1 AM with a full battery (90+ %) and around 7-8 AM, the phone DID NOT TURN ON at all!!! I had to plug the phone in for a few min before it would even boot. once into the OS, i found out that the battery had 5%!
how the hell did my battery go from full to empty in 7 hours?!?
i dont know, but i would really appreciate it if people could weigh in on this.
Just for the record, i keep the phone on *normal* audio profile, but turn the radio off and then hold the power button so the phon goes into a soft off.
so be ware! if you depend on your phone to wake you up in the AM....dont! set a second alarm!
