So, i understand people get promotional models, but it seems like way more people have it prior to its 11/8 release date...

What gives? Are stores selling them early? I went to a verizon store and they said no stores could sell them prior to their release dates.

My girlfriend just pre-ordered hers on the website and it came two days ago. Fine by me.

I ordered on November 1st and it arrived yesterday. Very pleased with it so far.

Ordering on the Internet was available since the end of last week (about 1 week before availability in stores). Shipping on an Internet order was taking 1-2 business days.

Some stores apparently were willing to sell the device before the 8th while others (like the 2 I visited) were not willing to. So they lost the sale, though Verizon still sold the phone to me over the Internet.

I guess smaller ones in smaller cities could. This store was a prime store in times square.

My local Verizon store had the pearl and the newest Samsung smart phone on the 31st. The rep got them both out of the back and let me molest them but wouldn't sell them to me.

I got mine two days ago at our Local Verizon in circuit city. They actually only had one that the manager had taken from the mall. The location at the mall has them but they had not put them out for display yet but they let me see it though. I got mine at the circuit city location because I like the service that the manager gives me there.

Re: the store in Times Square, just forget it with NYC stores. Since they can only hire the bottom-of-the-barrel employees for what they pay, they have people with astoundingly low technical skills or desire to sell you anything.

Even today the person at the 59th & 3rd store told me they would get the pearl "in a few weeks". Best bet is mail order.

Order mine from my vzw b2b website on Monday 11/5 and had it Tuesday.

I ordered mine at the store here in Sioux Falls on Monday and had it less than 24 hours later via FedEx. Love it.

I went into the VZW store in my area today at lunch, they had no probs selling it to me. Granted it was only a day early, but I was happy.

VZW Pearl = teh r0x0r (hands down)

WAY better than my 8830 - and I haven't even made one call on the Pearl yet!
